Burna Boy took to Instagram on Monday, February 27, 2023, to explain his silence during the 2023 presidential election.
The Grammy winner expressed surprise that folks were making noise out of his election silence, given the fact that he’s never supported a candidate.
According to Burna Boy, he hasn’t ever believed in any candidate and does not want to impact the electorate who will criticise him if such a candidate fails.
He also states that, while he will not participate in the process because he does not believe in it, he hope and prays the votes are counted and the best man wins.
“I dunno why it’s such a big deal to some Nigerians that I’ve not been vocal about the elections. Personally, I don’t have a candidate that I believe in. I’ve never supported any political party or candidate in my life because I don’t want to make you vote and then blame me when the person fucks up, as usual, That being said, I hope all votes count and the best man wins.”
